BCBS-LA’s Blue Advantage HMO plan will launch just in time for the 2016 Annual Enrollment Period, which runs October 15 through December 7. It will offer coverage in 14 parishes throughout the Baton Rouge, New Orleans, North Shore and Acadiana areas, officials said, which include Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Lafayette, Livingston, Orleans, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Tammany, Washington, and West Baton Rouge.

Back in October 2014, Dan Paquin joined BCBS-LA as senior vice president of government programs to help oversee and develop the company’s MA plan. Before accepting the position, Paquin served as president of national health plans for WellCare Health Plans.
